United Way of Jay County has 19 member agencies and programs.  These agencies and programs provide the residents of Jay County with several essential Health & Human Services opportunities to enhance lives. 

Anthony Wayne Area Boy Scouts

Provides active participatory programs that teach young people life skills, values, and outdoor skills that lead to an increased sense of self-reliance and self-worth.  http://www.awac.org/ 

 Girl Scouts of East Central Indiana 

Girl Scouting provides fun and informal educational programs for girls of all ages, with activities designed specifically to help girls develop critical life skills.  http://www.gswc.ws/

 Bryant Area Community Center

Provides a meeting place and a recreation facility for both adults and youth of the community.  For example, Senior Activity Days, Euchre Parties, 4-H Meetings, Church Sports Leagues, Kids Nite Out.  Also provides a meeting place for Boys and Girls Club activities.

 Pennville Community Center

The Center is open to all community members for their use.  As the only large meeting room in the Pennville area it serves as a meeting place for Scouts, 4-H Clubs, the Grange, and Arts in the Park.  It is also used for many family reunions and special events of many civic organizations.

 Redkey Community Center

Provides a meeting place for children, clubs and organizations free of charge.  It is rented to families and large groups for gatherings.  Typically it is used for Arts in the Park, church gatherings, 4-H meetings, Lions Club meetings, wedding receptions and as an election site.  It is the only building of this type available in Redkey.

 West Jay Community Center

Will provide a meeting place for Headstart pre-school; Jay School’s Latchkey Program; senior citizens programming, center for civic groups’ activities; private receptions and reunions; Arts in the Park programming; business meetings; and other community entertainment functions.

 Dunkirk Scout Cabin

Provides a meeting place for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts in Dunkirk.  Scouting builds the minds of our young people, the future residents and citizens of Jay County.

 Jay County Scout Facilities

Provides a meeting place for all Girl and Boy Scout groups in Jay County.  Also serves as a meeting place for any other civic groups or special functions.

Jay County Boys Club

Provides a safe and healthy environment for the young men of the community.  Offers a high quality facility for the purposes of recreation, socialization, and academic endeavor.

 Jay County Girls Club

Provides a safe and healthy environment for the girls in our community to socialize, study, or participate in various sports activities during non-school hours.

 Jay County Cancer Society

Provides financial support to local cancer patients for medical and travel expenses involved with treatment.

 Jay County Association for Crippled Children and Adults

Provides assistance, education, and provides special aids or service to handicapped children and adults in Jay County.

  Jay County Health Coalition

Provides limited financial assistance for health related expenses for Jay County residents in need. This program is run through Community & Family Services. http://www.comfam.net/pages/compart.html

 Jayland Homeless Shelter

Provides emergency housing for homeless individuals, couples and families.

 Jayland Association for Retarded Citizens

Serves as an advocate organization for the mentally retarded population of Jay County from birth to adult.

 Jay-Randolph Developmental Services

JRDS is a private non-profit community social service agency serving people with special needs.  Community based programs include community independence, community sheltered employment, community employment services, group homes, Home & Community elderly or disabled services, semi-independent services, habilitation training, and early intervention services.  Center based programs include basic life skills and sheltered employment.

 American Red Cross, Hoosier Heartland Chapter

Provides assistance to victims of disasters.  This includes planning for disasters and education of the general public in life-saving techniques.  We also have a focus on youth programming designed to instill responsibility, safety and civic duty.  http://www.redcross-hhc.org/

 Salvation Army of Jay County

Provides local welfare and emergency assistance, homeless assistance, disaster services, and alcohol/drug rehabilitation. Also sponsors League of Mercy (Friendly Visiting Program). 

 STD Center (Community and Family Services)

Provides testing and treatment for sexualy transmitted diseases.
